The Story of This Tea

This Shui Xian comes from Wu Yuan Jian, one of the serene valleys within Wuyishan’s core tea area. The tea was roasted three times on charcoal in 2017, followed by a final light roast in February 2018. Afterward, it was sealed and rested for over two years, allowing the flavour to integrate and mellow naturally.

Through patient aging, the heavy roast has softened into a silken, elegant liquor with no overt charcoal tone. The tea’s aroma has deepened, the body has become rounder, and the aftertaste more enduring. The bottom of the cup reveals a concentrated fragrance that hints at wood, honey, and minerals. This Shui Xian’s full, balanced taste makes it a favourite among experienced Yancha drinkers who appreciate strength and refinement in harmony.

Aroma and Flavour

Each infusion unfolds layers of complexity: roasted nuts, orchids, and woody sweetness that gradually evolve into warm mineral tones. The liquor is clear, smooth, and rich, with a soothing sweetness that lingers long after drinking.

  • Aroma: Roasted wood, orchid, and soft caramel tones
  • Flavour: Deep, sweet, and full-bodied with refined roast smoothness
  • Texture: Silken and thick, with no trace of charcoal sharpness
  • Aftertaste: Long, sweet, and comforting, leaving a relaxed feeling
  • Steeping Endurance: 8–10 infusions with stable body and fragrance
