The Story of This Tea
This 2026 Mei Zhan Jin Jun Mei comes from Feng Shui Guan, a high mountain area within the greater Wuyishan range. The region shares the same ecological purity as Tongmuguan, with clean water, rich biodiversity, and mist-covered peaks. While the Mei Zhan cultivar is traditionally used for Wuyi oolongs, its transformation into Jin Jun Mei reveals a new dimension of this elegant leaf.
Only the earliest spring buds are selected, each one plump, tender, and hand-rolled with care. The hand-rolling process creates slight variations in shape that speak to true artisanal craftsmanship. The result is a tea that combines the soft florality of Mei Zhan with the depth and sweetness of high-grade Jin Jun Mei. Its flavour is bright and refreshing, yet grounded in classic Wuyi character.
Aroma and Flavour
This Mei Zhan Jin Jun Mei offers a concentrated floral fragrance that emerges from the liquor rather than the lid. The taste is sweet and pure, evoking the gentle clarity of rock sugar balanced with a soft mountain freshness. The liquor is bright golden-red and remarkably clear. It leaves the palate refreshed and lightly perfumed, a signature of this cultivar’s refined nature.
