The Story of This Tea
Foshou, or “Buddha’s Hand,” is one of the most characterful and historical cultivars in the Wuyi tea family. Its origin traces back to Yongchun, Fujian, where legend tells of a temple garden whose tea trees bore large, thick leaves shaped like the Buddha’s open palm. These trees were later brought to Wuyishan, where local tea makers refined the processing and turned it into a classic Wuyi Rock Tea.
Our 2025 harvest comes from Da Shui Keng, a semi-rock (Ban Yan) garden surrounded by dense forest and clean mountain air. The mature trees here, over 40 years old, are of an arbor type. Tall, deep-rooted, and rich in vitality. Their leaves carry a distinct Cong wei (old tree aroma) that gives this tea its complex, layered depth.
Aroma and Flavour
This Buddha’s Hand oolong is celebrated for its elegant pear-like fragrance, known locally as “Snow Pear 香雪梨.” The flavour is naturally sweet, round, and refreshing, with a balance between floral fragrance and woody warmth typical of mature Wuyi bushes. The medium roast adds a smooth, toasty layer without overshadowing its bright fruit tone.

- Flavor: Balanced and clean, combining fresh fruit sweetness with mild woody depth
- Texture: Smooth and medium-bodied with gentle minerality
- Aftertaste: Lingering sweetness with cooling clarity and long yun
- Steeping Endurance: 7 to 9 infusions
