The Story of This Tea

This Ya Shi Xiang comes from Ping Keng Tou Village in Fenghuang, Chaozhou, the birthplace of this famous Phoenix Dan Cong cultivar. The tea trees are approximately 50 years old and grow in volcanic ash soil rich in minerals and natural nutrients. This fertile soil provides favourable growing conditions for the tea trees and contributes to the distinctive character of the local terroir.

The most striking features of this tea are its powerful personality and distinctive flavour. Its fragrance is bold, powerful and intensely aromatic, with remarkable intensity, penetrating strength and a highly recognisable character.

Aroma and Flavour

The tea liquor is full-bodied and robust, delivering a rich, powerful taste with considerable depth and a pronounced high-mountain character. Its fragrance is vivid, sharp and expressive, with clearly defined layers that reveal the distinctive cultivar characteristics and terroir of Ping Keng Tou Village.
