The Story of This Tea

This 2025 Jin Jun Mei is a rare interpretation of the style, crafted entirely from the Huang Guan Yin cultivar. A modern hybrid of Tie Guan Yin and Huang Dan that is most often used for oolong production. Transforming it into black tea is unconventional, yet the result is deeply rewarding, capturing the floral clarity of oolong and the rich smoothness of fine black tea.

The tea originates from Aotou Village in Jianyang, Fujian, a mountainous region bordering the core Tongmu Guan area of the Wuyishan Nature Reserve. At around 1000 meters, its mist-covered slopes and mineral-rich soils mirror the natural environment of Tongmu itself. These ideal conditions nurture tender buds that produce a vivid, balanced, and aromatic Jin Jun Mei with the same “mountain yun”. That clean, resonant vitality found in the best Wuyi teas.

Aroma and Flavour

This Jin Jun Mei opens with a refined floral aroma laced with gentle spice. The liquor is bright golden-red, smooth, and clear, revealing strength and delicacy in perfect harmony. Each sip carries rich sweetness and subtle floral notes that linger long after drinking, while the texture remains thick and glossy, showing the purity of single-bud spring material.
